September 12 – The U.S. State Department announced this morning that Vietnam plans to open a special adoption program with the United States, effective on September 16th. According to the announcement, Vietnam’s Central Adoption Authority, the Ministry of Justice, has authorized two U.S. adoption service providers ― Dillon International, Inc. and Holt International Children’s Services, Inc. ― to facilitate intercountry adoptions from Vietnam to the United States. Vietnam’s Special Adoption Program will include “children with special needs, children aged five and older, and children in biological sibling groups.” Read more >
